Why is Lord Ganesh worshipped first?

Namaste!!!!!
We welcome you to our blog, feels grateful to reach out to you .I hope our blog Kalpavriksha will take you on beautiful journey of Indian mythology .Since every new beginning is incomplete without remembering Lord Ganesha we would like to introduce our blog with a sweet story .Do you  know why Lord Ganesha is worshipped  at start of every auspicious ceremony?

Although there are many stories so as to why he is always being worshipped first  but the most popular of it all is the competition that took place between Lord Ganesh and  Lord Karthikeya.
THE FAMOUS VISHWAPARIKRAMA(To complete 3 round of the world) :
The competition between Lord Ganesha and his brother Lord Karthikeya was to determine who was the best between the two (i.e Srestha between the two). So,Lord Shiva ,his wife Goddess Parvati and Rishi Narad announced this competition. The first one to go around the world three times would be declared as the winner. Lord Karthikeya began his parikrama (i.e .circumambulation )around the world on his vehicle, the peacock. Lord Ganesha, on the other hand, went around his parents, stating that his parents were his world. On being impressed by Lord Ganesha's intelligence , Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati announced him as the winner(i.e.Srestha),Therefore he gets worshipped first.

Another story that is popular for Lord ganesha being worshipped first is in relation to he getting his elephant head.
LORD GANESHA'S ELEPHANT HEAD :
After the birth of lord Ganesh,Goddess parvati ordered him to guard the door until she is complete with her bath.Completely Unaware of this incident , Lord Shiva tries to enter Goddess Parvati’s chambers but is restricted by Lord Ganesh for doing so,Lord Shiva tries to tell Lord Ganesh that he is his mother husband. But Lord Ganesh doesn’t listen to him and unaware of the fact that Lord Shiva is his own father , refuses him to enter Goddess Parvati’s chamber this angers Lord Shiva and he beheads Lord Ganesh. On Learning about this , Goddess Parvati gets upset and threatens to destroy world,if her son was not brought back to life .Therefore, Lord Shiva replaces Lord Ganesha’s head by a elephant head and blesses him that he would worshipped first.
