Lord Krishna and Sudama's friendship

Jai Shri Krishna!!!

Today on Friendship’s day would like to tell you a beautiful and emotional story of friendship. It is said that Lord Krishna and sudama were  best friends. They met at the ashram of Guru Sandipani, to receive trainings to become future warrior and rulers.

After receiving all the training, Sudama was saddened at thought of having to leave his best friend Lord Krishna.Soon they had to seperate their ways, Lord Krishna went on to become the king of dwarka and lived with his family .On the other hand Sudama was living a very poor life with his family.Sometimes he would not even have the food to feed his children.Once his wife asked Sudama to seek help from Krishna .At first Sudama was hestitant to approach Lord Krishna For Help but for the sake of his children he decided to visit the Lord for help.In India there is a  custom that you don’t go to someone’s house empty handed so he took puffed rice with him.

When Sudama reached Lord Krishna’s Palace the guard stopped him,he told them that tell Lord Krishna that he’s Dearest friend Sudama has come to meet him.Lord Krishna was elated to see his friend he welcomed him warmly, washed his feet and made him sit on his throne.Sudama was now feeling less of him because he could only manage to bring puffed rice for him so he hid it. But Lord Krishna saw this and playfully asked for his gift and Sudama had to give Puffed rice to him ,and the lord said that it was very delicious.Even after staying with Lord Krishna for two days Sudama could not asked him for help .While Returning Home he was very sad that what will he tell his wife but was surprise to see his wife dress in elegant clothes and a palace instead for his hut.

Sudama ‘s wife told him that this all has happened because of Lord Krishna and from that time onwards their belief in Lord Krishna increased everyday. It is said that Lord Krishna met him on Akshay Tritya and from then on this day is considered auspicious for starting new business and wealth acquistion .In Sanskrit, the word "Akshayya" (अक्षय्य) means " never endingness " in the sense of "prosperity, hope, joy, success", while Tritiya means "third phase of the moon"
